Social Security Recipients Will Not Receive $1400 Stimulus Checks

Th Stimulus Checks Given Out To Targeted Groups
Some states are digging into that wad of cash the government gave them and giving out the fourth stimulus checks to specific groups of people. The requirements look different for each state, but all seem to have a few things in commonlike falling into certain income levels or going through some kind of hardship.
- Arizona
The Grand Canyon State has a different take when it comes to stimulus checkstheyre giving them out to people who are going back to work. Arizonas Back to Work Program is offering $2,000 to those who got a job after being on unemployment.3 But you have to hold down your new job for at least eight weeks before getting the benefit.
- California
The Golden State is the only one on the list to give out big ol broad-sweeping stimulus checks that look like the ones the federal government gave out. Heres how their numbers break down: Californians making $75,000 or less were sent a one-time check of $600 or $1,200 as part of the Golden State Stimulus I.4 And with the Golden State Stimulus II, they could be eligible for a second stimulus payment anywhere from $500 to $1,100.5 Thats on top of extra money the state paid out through the Young Child Tax Credit to those who have children age 6 or younger.6

Will There Be Another Stimulus Check From The Federal Government
Most people agree that getting another big stimulus check from the federal government is a long shot at this point. Still, some lawmakers keep pushing for another stimulus check to help Americans who are struggling to rebuild thanks to COVID-19 and its economic impact. And with the Delta and Omicron variants out therewould another stimulus check happen for everyone? You never know. Only time will tell, really. A lot of people didnt think wed see a third stimulus check eitherbut it happened.
With the economy and jobs both on the upswing, the need for a stimulus check is way less than its been since the start of the pandemic. Not to mention, a lot of people have been getting extra cash each month from the Child Tax Credit. Add all of that up and its easy to see that there might not be another stimulus check. But if there is one, dont worrywell let you know.

No $1400 Stimulus Check For Social Security Recipients
Despite inflation, the US economy has survived one of the worlds worst pandemics in history. Congress is unlikely to approve a new stimulus check plan for the majority of Americans, with the jobless rate currently hovering around 3.6 percent.
Despite this, speculations of a fourth stimulus check for Social Security recipients persist. Social Security benefits, which are paid to retirees and those unable to work because of physical disabilities, are steady. However, they do not keep up with inflation. Rick Delaney, the president of The Senior Citizens League, wrote to Congress to request a one-time $1,400 stimulus check payment for Social Security claimants. Since then, its been seven months.

Are $2000 Monthly Stimulus Checks Possible
In response to President Biden’s American Jobs Plan proposal, a group of 21 senators on March 30 sent a letter urging the inclusion of stimulus checks in the legislation. The group called for recurring payments as long as the pandemic lockdown continued, meaning people would get monthly checks from the government. No amount for the payments was specified.
We urge you to include recurring direct payments and automatic unemployment insurance extensions tied to economic conditions in your Build Back Better long-term economic plan, wrote the group, which consisted of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and others.
An earlier stimulus check proposal, put forward during the early days of the American Rescue Plan in late January, also suggested monthly payments until the pandemic is over, but did not mention an amount. However, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minnesota, tweeted earlier in January that she wanted to see $2,000 per month.
If that amount sounds familiar, it’s because now-Vice President Kamala Harris threw her support behind $2,000 recurring checks during the negotiations for the second stimulus check legislation in the summer of 2020.
The proposal has also gained plenty of support outside of Congress: Six online petitions calling for $2,000 monthly stimulus checks until the end of the pandemic have been posted. The biggest petition, on Change.org, has been signed by more than 2.8 million people and has a stated goal of reaching 3 million.
Fourth Stimulus Check Announced By Biden Administration Heres Who Gets One

At last, we have an official answer to a stimulus-related question that many people have been asking: Will there be a fourth stimulus check?
The answer is clear, albeit not necessarily as straightforward as people would like. Thats because, no, lawmakers have not approved another broad-based stimulus payment along the lines of the first three stimulus checks. Tens of millions of Americans, across almost all demographics, were eligible for those payments. This time, however, the government is talking about a one-time $600 check. And only for a few specific groups such as meatpacking workers, and grocery store employees.

Stimulus In The Form Of A Tax Return
The 2021 stimulus checks may have an effect on what individuals owe when they file their taxes this year.
Numerous people last year claimed new credits, including the coronavirus stimulus check and child tax credits.
While taxpayers are not required to repay this money, it does count as income, and IRS officials urged taxpayers to meticulously document all sources of income during one of the most perplexing tax seasons in American history.
How Will You Receive The Third Stimulus Check
Most people have gotten their previous stimulus checks by direct deposit with the bank account on file with the IRS. Payments were automatic for anyone who filed a 2019 tax return and/or receives Social Security benefits. If you dont have direct deposit with the IRS, your payment would take a little more time and come as a check or debit card in the mail.11

Some Americans Will Be Getting A Fourth Stimulus Check
Despite the fact a fourth check won’t happen for most Americans, some will get another payment in 2022. This can happen if:
- They did not receive their full stimulus payments in 2021. Those who missed out on part or all of their payments could include people whose incomes dropped in 2021 and who became eligible for a stimulus check despite their 2020 income being too high to qualify. Anyone who added a dependent last year may also be owed payments due for that dependent. To get this money, it will be necessary to file a 2021 tax return.
- Their state provides another stimulus check. Some states are using money provided by the federal government for COVID-19 relief to provide payments this year.
Outside of these situations, Americans shouldn’t expect more help from Washington in the form of a fourth stimulus check in 2022 unless the pandemic takes a devastating turn.
Some Other Ways To Receive Direct Aid

Many Americans can still expect future payments that were included in the American Rescue Plan. In addition to a one-time $1,400 payment to those who qualify, two other payments were approved:
- Expanded child tax credit: Qualifying families will receive $3,600 for each child under the age of 6 and $3,000 for children age 6 and older. Half of the credit may be paid in period payments beginning in July, then youll receive the rest when you file your 2021 tax return next year.
- Federal unemployment bonus: If youre unemployed, you may receive a monthly check worth up to $300 in addition to your state unemployment benefits. These payments will end on Sept. 6.
Congress could add to these payments by passing a federal minimum wage increase, making the improved child tax credit permanent or renewing the federal unemployment benefit beyond September.
Biden has signaled his support for making the child tax credit permanent and raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. These proposals have also received some support from Republicans, but some have discussed raising the minimum wage to at little as $10 per hour over time.
