Surprise Stimulus Check Payments Are Being Sent Out In These Seven States
The latest stimulus payments, a part of President Joe Bidens American Rescue Act sent $1,400 checks to Americans.
While a fourth-round seems unlikely, you could still be owed federal stimulus. This would be available for parents who welcomed a new child in 2021.

Eligible families will need to file their 2021 tax return next year they will then get their stimulus payment once the tax return is processed.
It’s currently unlikely that a fourth stimulus check will be issued on a federal level.
Third Stimulus Check: Updated Timeline For $1400 Payments
WASHINGTON After more than two months of anxious waiting by millions of Americans, President Joe Biden has signed into law a $1.9 trillion COVID relief plan which includes $1,400 direct payment stimulus checks.
Congress gave final approval on the American Rescue Plan on Wednesday and it then headed to Biden for his signature.
Biden initially planned to sign the bill on Friday afternoon, but White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain tweeted Thursday that the bill arrived quicker than anticipated, so they decided to sign it a day earlier.
Minutes after Biden signed the bill into law, the White House provided a big update to the timeline for when the third round of stimulus checks will start going out.

Receive A New Set Of Stimulus Payments
For example, if you and your family wish to start having children in 2022, the government will assist you. Also shown are those who had a kid in 2021.
There are some things you need to do before you can get this stimulus payment as a dependent and get it. If your children are dependents, there are some limitations on how old they can be. They must be under the age of 19 or have a disability.
If you wish to claim a child, foster child, sibling, step-brother or step-sister, half brother or half-sister, a descendant of any of the above, or child of any of the above as your dependant.
Finally, you have to be in a certain income group to qualify. Individuals who make less than $75,000, or less than $150,000 if married and filing jointly, can get tax help.
A Timeline Of Past Stimulus Checks

The pandemic stimulus payments started nearly two years ago.
Stimulus checks were first deposited in the spring of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was just beginning, driving up the unemployment rate and causing financial hardship for many. Individuals with income below $75,000 received $1,200 and couples earning below $150,000 received $2,400.

The Trump administration then in December 2020 $600 per individual taxpayer, $1,200 per married couple and an additional $600 for each child under the age of 17.
A third round came under the Biden administration in March 2021, giving $1,400 per individual and $2,800 per married couple, along with $1,400 per dependent this time regardless of age.

More Stimulus Check Money Is Coming If You Live In These 4 States
If 2021 was the year of the stimulus check, this year is shaping up to be the period when state and local leaders try and figure out how to make up for it.
The political dynamic in Congress makes a new round of direct aid like a fourth stimulus check, or more of the monthly child tax credit payments all but impossible at the moment. No payments at all from the federal government, however, is a striking contrast to the more than half a dozen checks that millions of Americans got last year. Democrats also know that its a political liability, to some degree, to completely slam the brakes on those payments. This is also why states and local governments have stepped into the breach, to offer stimulus-related aid of their own.

All of which is to say: While last years checks were by and large pretty broad-based, to get any kind of stimulus check at all this year will largely depend on where you live. On whether your state leaders have decided to offer up such programs and initiatives of their own.
California, for example, looks poised to bring back something comparable to its Golden State Stimulus effort that sent out checks last year for hundreds of dollars. To tens of thousands of state residents.
Fourth Stimulus Check Update
Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act, which created the third stimulus checks, did boost tax credits for most parents with children under 18, but only for the year 2021. Most parents and legal guardians will receive a tax credit of $3,600 for children under six, and $3,000 per child aged six through 17.
Half of that credit is coming in the form of monthly advance payments to parents beginning July 15 $300 per month for younger kids, and $250 for older ones. That’s similar to the monthly recurring checks that some legislators have called for.
The same law also retroactively exempted a large chunk of unemployment benefits paid out in 2020 from federal income tax. People who collected unemployment in 2020 and paid tax on it are getting thousands of dollars in tax-refund checks.
The American Rescue Plan Act also offers tax credits that cover all or most of the cost of a “Silver” health-insurance plan for six months under the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. You’re eligible for this if you filed for unemployment benefits at any time in 2021, and if you don’t currently get health insurance through Medicare, Medicaid or someone else’s health plan.
Biden’s American Families Plan, which is separate from the American Jobs Plan, will seek to extend those tax credits, including the advance payments, through the end of 2025.
The American Families Plan would also mandate up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave and subsidies for childcare.

Who Is Eligible For The Stimulus Check For Social Security Beneficiaries
The House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act back on Friday, November 19, and this includes some benefits for seniors, although there is no sign of a stimulus check.
Medicare will be expanded to include hearing services, while government have more power when it comes to negotiating drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, but this bill is not going to be passed in the Senate ahead of 2022.
This is because Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin has declared that he will not be supporting the Build Back Better bill, which means that the millions of people that it supports are now left in the lurch. While there is progress expected in 2022, the $1.9 trillion bill has still not been given the green light.
Do People Need A Fourth Stimulus Check
According to CNBC, there is a case for a fourth stimulus check that goes beyond the calls from lawmakers. The Economic Security Project, a progressive organization that advocates for guaranteed income no matter what the state of the economy, says there’s a need for more stimulus checks.
We need at least one more check, said Adam Ruben.
Ruben, the campaign director at the Economic Security Project, also said that stimulus checks should be “automatic,” and not stalled as they were last summer when second stimulus check negotiations caused a long gap between the $1,200 and $600 payments.
There are signs of recovery, though. The June jobs report showed a gain of 850,000, which was better than expected, according to The New York Times. That’s the strongest one-month gain since last summer.
Likewise, the Commerce Department said that gross domestic product had grown at an annualized rate of 6.5% for April through June of 2021, surpassing the figure it had reached before the pandemic, the Washington Post reported. However, that was less than the 8% GDP growth some economists had forecast.
Regardless, certain lawmakers are pushing for relief.
This unprecedented moment demands an unprecedented response. People dont only need relief, they need stability, certainty, and predictability and the ABC Act delivers them exactly that,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal .
However, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, didn’t appear to agree.

While the stimulus checks and now-expired Child Tax Credit provided direct aid to families, “most federal aid programs miss the mark, and only reach a fraction of the intended recipients,” noted Greg Nasif, political director of Humanity Forward.
He added, “They barely functioned even before the pandemic and they leave parents with a full-time job navigating bureaucratic hurdles.” In his view, providing “speedy, efficient, direct cash support” is the best option for helping struggling families.
Many people never applied for unemployment benefits because they didn’t think they were eligible, while others may have given up due to long waits and other issues.
Even those who qualified for aid didn’t always receive it. Only 4 in 10 jobless workers actually received unemployment aid, according to a from economist Eliza Forsythe.

Irs Has Sent $6 Billion In Stimulus Payments Just In June Here’s How To Track Your Money
Your stimulus check could be on its way, along with child tax credit money and unemployment tax refunds. We’ll explain the state of the payments today.
Stimulus check payments aren’t over yet for everyone.
Don’t think that the child tax credit payments going out in just over two weeks are all the IRS is focused on. The tax agency continues to send weekly batches of the third stimulus checks, with more than $6 billion in stimulus payments going out just in June. Some of that money includes “plus-up” adjustments for people who received less money than they were supposed to get in earlier checks.
Even though many of us got our stimulus money in the earlier batches in spring, some have had to wait weeks or months for their checks. The IRS sent money first to people who’d already filed their 2019 or 2020 tax returns because those were the easiest to verify. So if you’re still waiting for your stimulus check up to $1,400 — or think you might be due a plus-up payment — we’ll tell you what to do next.
In the meantime, many experts say a fourth stimulus check is unlikely, but millions of families will be getting a good chunk of money with July’s first child tax credit payment. We can tell you how to know if you qualify and how much money you could expect over the course of the year. The IRS is also issuing unemployment tax refunds to millions of people who received jobless benefits last year, though payments are taking longer than expected. This story was updated recently.
When Will The Third Stimulus Check Be Sent

The goal of Democrats was to pass the bill by this Sunday, March 14. That’s when extra unemployment assistance and other pandemic aid expires.
With Biden signing the plan on Thursday, Democrats have met that goal.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced shortly after Biden signed the bill that the IRS and Treasury Department are working hard to get payments out. She said some people will see direct deposits hit their bank accounts as early as this weekend.
“This is of course just the first wave, but some people in he country will start seeing those direct deposits in their bank accounts this weekend and payments to eligible Americans will continue throughout the course of the next several weeks,” Psaki explained.
The IRS said Friday the payments were already being processed and concurred that direct deposits would start arriving this weekend.
During the first round of stimulus checks in April 2020, it took about two weeks for the federal government to start distributing the money. It took around one week for the second round of checks, worth $600, in early January partly because the infrastructure from the first stimulus was in place.
One factor that could complicate things is that this is also tax season. The IRS will be trying to send out stimulus checks while also processing incoming tax returns and calculating refunds.

When Do They Vote On The Third Stimulus Check
The House of Representatives passed the American Rescue Plan Saturday morning by a 219-212 vote, hours after going through the House Rules Committee. The bill will now be sent over to the Senate for consideration, but the timeline for passage there remains in some question.
The legislation provides a third stimulus check that amounts to $1,400 for a single taxpayer, or $2,800 for a married couple that files jointly, plus $1,400 per dependent. Individuals earning up to $75,000 would get the full amount as would married couples with incomes up to $150,000.
The size of the check would shrink for those making slightly more with a hard cut-off at $100,000 for individuals and $200,000 for married couples.
Some Republicans want to cut the size of the rebate as well as the pool of Americans eligible for it, but Biden has insisted on $1,400 checks, saying thats what the American people were promised. The new round of checks will cost the government an estimated $422 billion.

Would More People Qualify For A Check
Millions more Americans could qualify for a check if Mr. Biden’s plan is passed as he originally envisioned. One of his goals is to expand the payments to adult dependents, who were excluded from the first two rounds of checks.
That exclusion meant college students who are claimed as dependents on their parents’ taxes, as well as disabled adults who are claimed as dependents, didn’t qualify for checks. Because the two previous relief checks defined a child as someone younger than 17 years, they also excluded high school students who are 17 or 18. Mr. Biden’s plan would extend the payments to older teenagers.
However, Mr. Biden’s seeming willingness to target the checks to lower-income households could drastically reduce the number of households that would qualify for a check. For instance, the IRS said it sent 30 million payments to households earning more than $75,000 during the first round of stimulus checks. Under the income thresholds reported by the Washington Post $50,000 for single earners and $100,000 for married couples it’s likely many of those households wouldn’t qualify for the full $1,400 check.
The Claim: A Fourth $2000 Stimulus Payment Is Being Sent Out
With tax season underway, some experts have warned that the 2022 season may see some of the issues of 2021, when several rounds of stimulus checks caused severe logjams in the IRS’ filing system.
While it’s been about a year since stimulus checks were last dispensed, an array of social media posts claim a fourth round of stimulus checks are on the way.
“SENDING OUT $2,000 CHECKS FOR EVERYONE! FOURTH STIMULUS CHECK,” says the title on a viewed more than 20,000 times.
videos with titles claiming the checks will be deposited Feb. 9 drew 40,000 more views.
But none of the videos followed through with any proof of an upcoming payment. Because there isn’t one.
No fourth stimulus check is imminent, the IRS confirms.

There Is A Chance That All Of The States Will Get The New Stimulus Checks
This is how it will work: The federal government will set aside money for these payments. Each state will decide whether to give out checks or use the money for other good causes.
As you may know, not all governments agree with the idea of giving money to people who cant make ends meet. Many people think that the money should be used to do things that help everyone.
Many governments used the money to fix things like roads or get people back to work.
State governments like Californias Golden State Stimulus Schemes did give money from the federal governments stimulus package to people who didnt get it from the federal government.

Tens Of Millions Will Receive Third Stimulus Payments On March 17
Are you waiting for the third stimulus payment? Tens of millions of people will receive theirs on Wednesday, March 17, according to the National Automated Clearing House Association which governs the direct deposit process for many banks and credit unions in the U.S.
That’s the settlement date the IRS selected for the first wave of funds. The payments should be available to taxpayers by 8:30 a.m., per Nacha.
Some people have already received their economic impact payments because financial companies they bank with, including Current and Cash App, did not wait for the money to be cleared before depositing it into customer accounts.
A group of bank and credit unions released a statement Tuesday saying that they have been waiting for the IRS to release the funds so they can make them available to customers.
“While the IRS could have chosen to send the funds via Same Day or provided for an earlier effective date, it chose not to do so,” the statement reads. “It is up to the sender, in this case the IRS, to decide when it wants the money to be made available and the IRS chose March 17.”
The first wave will be deposited directly into bank accounts. The IRS will then send more waves of payments, as well as paper checks and pre-paid debit cards.
