The American Rescue Plan Authorizes A Third Round Of Stimulus Checks When Might You Receive Your Payment
The IRS started sending third stimulus check payments just a couple of days after President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act. In less than a week, 90 million Americans had pocketed a total of $242 billion in stimulus payments. But that was just the first wave of payments. More stimulus checks will be sent mostly by direct deposit, but some through the mail as a paper check or debit card. So, if you’re eligible for a payment but haven’t received your third stimulus check yet, hang in there.
We don’t know yet how long it will take to distribute all payments. Hopefully, it will be a matter of weeks, not months, before the vast majority of third stimulus checks are delivered. We shall see. In any event, whether you get your payment in the next few days or in a couple of weeks, at least you know payments will be sent soon. And since the IRS has bank account information for more Americans than it did when first-round stimulus checks were being processed, they’ll be able to deposit payments directly into bank accounts for most eligible Americans. This will speed up the payment process considerably. That’s good news for people who lost income because of the pandemic and desperately need the extra cash.
How Is The Third Stimulus Check Calculated
The stimulus plan mandates the treasury to rely on 2019 and 2020 tax returns to calculate how much you could get for the third round of stimulus checks.
Congress approved limits based on adjusted gross income ranges. This means that taxpayers making less than the minimum threshold could get the full stimulus check, while those earning above it get reduced payments until they are fully phased out at higher incomes.
You can find your AGI on IRS form 1040. This is calculated by subtracting deductions like student loan interest, health savings account payments, and contributions to a traditional IRA from your gross income.
By contrast, your gross income is the total amount of money that you made during the tax year, including wages, dividends, capital gains, rental property income and other types of revenue.
Your 2019 taxes had to be filed by July 15, 2020. And your 2020 taxes are due by the extended deadline of May 17. You can read more about when to file your tax returns for the third stimulus check, and other IRS requirements in two tax sections below.
How To Turn Your Stimulus Check Into $25000
We thought Micah Pollock, who is an associate professor of economics at Indiana University, was just joking in this tweet, but this actually is what the Motley Fool is recommending in their article .
While its true what the Fool says – and it is good investing advice and shows the power of markets to turn small amounts into big amounts over the long term – it does rather feel that the headline is on the baity side of the click equation. Well Need Recurring Checks Until The Crisis Is Over
A group of more than 50 progressive lawmakers has signed a letter sent to President BIden and Vice President Kamala Harris, calling for the next round of stimulus checks to be replaced with a recurring payment programme. The current proposal from the Democrats includes a single $1,400 payment for eligible Americans.
However this will be just the third direct payment to be agreed in nearly a year, and it seems unlikely that another stimulus bill as big as the American Rescue Plan will be passed for some time.
Biden has promised to support those most vulnerable and the recurring stimulus check proposal would offer greater support to working women and ethnic minorities who have been particularly hit by the pandemic. Harris actually supported a similar proposal last year while Senator for California, but is highly unlikely to split from BIden on this issue now.
American Rescue Plan Needed To Get Kids Back Into Schools

Vice President Kamala Harris has reiterated her support for President Biden’s stimulus bill, which aims to get children back into schools within 100 days. It forms just one part of the Biden administration’s push to provide support for low income families, who have been hit particularly hard by the pandemic.
Harris has recently penned an op-ed in the Washington Post in which she outlines the struggles faced by women in the workplace. As well as the additional stimulus checks and child tax credits offered in the American Rescue Plan, gettin gkids back into school safely would help to ease the burden on working mothers who often shoulder much of the burden for childcare.

What Is In The American Rescue Plan
The Democrats are attempting to pass a stimulus bill which provides stimulus checks and child tax credits, but what else is included in Biden’s flagship economy legislation? The $1.9 trillion package is intended to get the American economy through the worst of the covid-19 pandemic and there are a number of public health intitiatives involved.
As this breakdown from Congresswoman Julia Brownley shows there will be a boost in funding for FEMA and greater infrastructure spending to give the economy a much-needed kick start. Some Republicans have claimed that the spending promised in this bill is too great but Biden has made clear that he will not risk under-funding the US economy at such a crucial moment.

Question: Can the IRS or other creditors take my third stimulus check if I owe back taxes, child support or other debts?
Answer: Your third stimulus check is not subject to reduction or offset to pay child support, federal taxes, state income taxes, debts owed to federal agencies, or unemployment compensation debts.
However, the American Rescue Plan doesn’t include additional protections that were included in the legislation authorizing the second round of stimulus checks. For example, second-round stimulus checks weren’t subject to garnishment by creditors or debt collectors. They couldn’t be lost in bankruptcy proceedings, either. The IRS also had to encode direct deposit payments so that banks knew they couldn’t be garnished.
Question: Can a dead person get a third stimulus check?
Answer: For the third round of stimulus checks, anyone who died before January 1, 2021, is not eligible to receive a payment. Essentially, they’re treated as if they don’t have a Social Security number.
There is an exception for military personnel. If a person who died before 2021 was married and a member of the U.S. military, the surviving spouse can still receive a third stimulus check even if he or she doesn’t have a Social Security number.
The extra $1,400 per dependent is also off the table if the parent died before 2021 or, in the case of a joint return, both parents died before then.

Question: How many third-round stimulus checks will I get?
Answer: As with the first two round of checks, the legislation authorizing the third round of payments only calls for one payment. This is not a “recurring” payment situation.
However, some people will receive a supplemental payment if their 2020 tax return is filed and/or processed after the IRS sends them their regular third stimulus check. The IRS is calling these “plus-up” payments, and they’ll only be sent if your regular stimulus check would have been higher if it was based on your 2020 tax return . So, for example, if you received a $700 third stimulus check based on the information found on your 2019 return, filed your 2020 tax return later, and your third stimulus check would have been for $800 if it was based on information from your 2020 return, then the IRS will send you a second payment for the $100 difference.
Some married couples could also get two payments. If a joint tax return is filed, a married couple could get two separate third stimulus payments. Half may come as a direct deposit and the other half will be mailed to the address the IRS has on file. Each spouse should check the IRS’s “Get My Payment” tool separately using their own Social Security number to see the status of their payments.
Will The Stimulus Affect My Taxes For This Year Or Next Year
None of the three stimulus checks are considered income, and therefore arent taxable. They wont reduce your refund or increase what you owe when you file your taxes this year, or next. They also wont affect your eligibility for any federal government assistance or benefits.

Biden Hits 62% Approval Rating As President Pushes For Approval Of Stimulus Checks
In one of the first polls to ask Americans about their opinion of the new president’s job performance, Joe Biden hit an approval rating of 62%, which is a higher first rating than any of the past four presidents.
Many of those surveyed will no doubt be happy with the initiaitive Biden has shown in efforts to get his $1.9bn stimulus bill approved and his strong support for $1,400 stimulus checks.
Biden recently called on Congress to work toward quick approval of his new Covid-19 relief bill, known as the American Rescue Plan.
“We dont have a second to waste when it comes to delivering the American people the relief they desperately need. Im calling on Congress to act quickly and pass the American Rescue Plan”
No Sign Of Fourth Check
As the omicron variant stokes worries of another shutdown in the US, there has been no indication a fourth stimulus check will be sent.
On November 26, the World Health Organization designated omicron as a Covid-19 variant, and labeled it as a very high global risk.
The Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell warned Congress that the new variant could have a negative impact on the economy.
The recent rise in COVID-19 cases and the emergence of the Omicron variant pose downside risks to employment and economic activity and increased uncertainty for inflation, he wrote.
Greater concerns about the virus could reduce peoples willingness to work in person, which would slow progress in the labor market and intensify supply-chain disruptions.
Millions of Americans have signed petitions calling for additional payments, but the White House has not proposed another round of checks.

Senator In Favour Child Tax Credit Expansion

Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado has voiced his support for the increase in direct payments included in Biden’s American Relief Plan. The $1.9 trillion stimulus package would see child tax credits upped to a monthly payment of $300 for children under six, and $250 for those aged between six and 17.
As Bennet points out this is one of the measures aimed at tackling the growing wealth disparity in the United States. Biden has set the target of halving the number of children experiencing poverty through this package of economic stimulus. Now that a $940 billion portion of the bill has been approved by the House Ways and Means Committee there is a good chance that the legislation will be passed into law.

Third Stimulus Check: Here’s What Could Delay Or Lower Your Payment
The third stimulus check is already hitting some bank accounts, just days after President Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Act into law. But while some households will see the funds as early as this week, others may be in for a longer wait.
About 85% of people will receive one of the $1,400 checks, Mr. Biden said on March 12. It’s also likely that some of the issues that stymied delivery for some people in the previous two rounds of stimulus could cause a repeat situation the third time. For instance, some people who didn’t have a bank account on file with the IRS during the previous two rounds of checks had to wait several weeks for debit cards or paper checks to reach their homes.
It’s most likely that people who have filed their 2020 or 2019 tax returns and have a bank account on file with the tax agency will quickly receive their stimulus checks through direct deposit, based on the prior payment rollouts. That’s because the IRS prioritizes getting the stimulus money out quickly to those it knows it can reach and it’s a massive effort, given that the tax agency has $422 billion in funds to distribute to more than 100 million taxpayers.
About 100 million payments will be issued over the next 10 days, according to IRS and Treasury officials on a Monday conference call.
Here’s what could hold up some people from receiving their money, or receiving the incorrect amount.
Committee Passes Stimulus Check And Child Tax Credit Proposal
Despite the lack of consensus in Washington progress is continuing on Biden’s American Rescue Plan as the Ways and Means Committee voted in favour of a $940 billion segment of the proposal. The section passed includes funding for the third round of stimulus checks, as well as proposed expansion of child tax credit.
This is not a formal passing of the bill, but does pave the way for the Democrats to use a process known as reconciliation to get the full package signed into law. The vote in the Committee was along party lines, with a 25-18 victory for the Democrats.

Study: $1400 Stimulus Checks Would Help 226 Million Pay Bills Through Mid
President Biden’s proposed $1,400 coronavirus relief checks would allow 22.6 million Americans to pay their bills for at least four and a half months, according to a study from data and research company Morning Consult.
The analysis comes as debates continue over the size and number of stimulus checks to be included in the next round of covid-19 aid.
To evaluate the stimulus’s impact, Morning Consult analysed data on household finances, determining that a new stimulus targeted at low-income adults would help to prevent worsened financial hardship, more than just digging people out of trouble.
According to the study, roughly 30.2 million Americans were unable to pay their bills in January.
Out of those, 75 percent missed their bills by less than $300 a 7 percent improvement from the month prior. Concerns may be raised that the study could be used as evidence against a fourth stimulus check.
How To Claim Your $1400 Stimulus Check In 2022

SOME Americans can claim a $1,400 stimulus check in the new year.
However, there is specific criteria to follow to receive the cash in 2022.
The new payment will go out to people who were eligible for the third round of stimulus checks that went out earlier this year, but haven’t yet received them.
The last lot of checks are due to go out when eligible taxpayers file their 2021 tax return next year.

$1400 Stimulus Check Will Allow 226 Million Americans To Pay Bills In Full Through Mid
If $1,400 stimulus checks are approved by March 1, it would allow 22.6 million Americans to pay their bills in full through mid-July, according to a study released by Morning Consult.
In January, according to the report, around 30.2 million adults could not pay their bills, but after the $600 stimulus payments were approved, there was a 7% improvement from the months prior in terms of ability to pay.
If the next stimlus payment is raised to $1,400. it would mean that 22.6 million Americans will be in a position to pay their bills in full through mid-July without going into debt, according to the Morning Constult study’s findings.
How Likely Is A Fourth Stimulus Check
Don’t hold your breath, according to Wall Street analysts. “I think it’s unlikely at this time,” Raymond James analyst Ed Mills told CNBC. One reason is that the Biden administration is focused on advancing its infrastructure plan, which would reshape the economy by rebuilding aging schools, roads and airports, as well as investing in projects ranging from affordable housing to broadband.
The proposal, which the White House says would be funded by boosting the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%, will likely consume lawmakers this fall, said Stifel’s Brian Gardner in an August 11 research note.
“The fall is shaping up to be a busy time in Washington as Congress tries to finish two infrastructure bills , approve the annual spending bills, and raise the debt ceiling,” he noted.
