Single filers and head-of-household filers will receive up to $1,400 each, and married joint filers will receive up to $2,800, plus $1,400 for each dependent.
There are also income limits. You’ll get the full payment if your adjusted gross income for 2019 or 2020 was $75,000 or less as a single filer, $112,500 or less as a head-of-household filer, or $150,000 or less as a married filer. Payments completely phase out at $80,000 for single filers, $120,000 for head-of-household filers, and $160,000 for married filers.

After months of fruitless negotiations, lawmakers finally settled on a $900 coronavirus relief bill to follow late March’s CARES Act. The bill was officially passed into law at the end of last year. It includes, among other provisions, rental assistance, boosted unemployment benefits, and a second round of direct stimulus payments worth $600 apiece.
Most recipients with bank account details on file with the IRS will receive their money via direct deposit, similar to the first round. But others, including those without bank account details on record, will need to either wait for a physical check to arrive in the mail, or wait for a debit card. Here’s what you need to know about the latter.
I Was Supposed To Get An Eip Card For The First Or Second Stimulus Check But I Never Got It What Can I Do
If your first or second stimulus check never arrived, you’ll have to claim it as a Recovery Rebate Credit when you file your 2020 tax return, now through the May 17 deadline. You’ll have to file your taxes to claim any missing stimulus money, even if you’re part of the group of nonfilers who typically don’t have to do so. In some cases — like if you received a confirmation letter from the IRS that it sent your money, but your EIP card never arrived — you may have to report the missing funds or any errors to the IRS.

Who Might Receive Their Child Tax Credit Money On A Debit Card
The IRS on May 17 said debit cards would be one of three ways it will deliver child tax credit payments each month, direct deposits and paper checks being the other two methods. Most of the payments are expected to go straight into bank accounts 80% of tax refunds are sent as direct deposit, and the IRS said it is committed to maximizing the use of direct deposit for child tax credit payments. As with tax refunds and all three stimulus checks, people who dont have direct deposit information on file with the IRS will receive either a paper check or debit card.
The IRS told CNET it is still working out the details for who gets what, but in general:
- The IRS sent stimulus payments on Direct Express debit cards which the Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs use to send benefit payments and on prepaid EIP debit cards to some people for all three rounds of payments. It isnt clear if youll be able to change your payment delivery method in one of the IRS portals when they launch by July 1.

Millions Of Stimulus Debit Cards Will Be Mailed Out Starting This Week
The Treasury Department announced Thursday that approximately 8 million second stimulus payments will be mailed out starting this week in the form of prepaid debit cards.
The debit cards, called Economic Impact Payment cards, are issued by MetaBank, N.A., and will arrive in a white envelope that “prominently displays the U.S. Department of the Treasury seal.”
The cards themselves will have “Visa” on the front and MetaBank on the back. The envelope will also include instructions for activating the cards. Many people reportedly threw the cards away during the first round of stimulus checks because they were not expecting them.
Millions of paper checks are also being delivered, and the IRS is still depositing payments via direct deposit. The agency has until Jan. 15 to deliver all of the payments after that, eligible taxpayers who have not received their payment will need to claim it on their 2020 tax returns.
Cards sent out the first time will not be “reloaded.” Taxpayers will either receive a new card, a paper check or direct deposit.
The Treasury also noted that some people who received a paper check last time may get a debit card for their second payment, and vice versa. It did not provide a reason for this change.

Funds from Economic Impact Payments made through direct deposit will be available for customers to access on the effective date, as long as the account is open and there are no restrictions on the account.

Filing Tax Returns For 2020
Those who havent still received their EIP card may need to claim all or part of the missing amount when filing federal tax returns for 2020 through the Recovery Rebate Credit. This year, the tax season will start on Friday 12 February, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2020 tax year returns. Individual income tax returns can be filed from that date until Thursday 15 April. Claimants will also be able to claim any additional money owed by the IRS from the first round of payments sent out earlier in 2020 as a credit.
How To Replace A Lost Or Stolen Card Stimulus Debit Card
If you have misplaced your EIP Debit Card, you can lock it by logging in online at EIPCard.com to prevent unauthorized transactions or ATM withdrawals while you look for it.
However, if your Card is permanently lost, heres what you need to do:
First, call Customer Service at 1.800.240.8100 to report your lost or stolen Card immediately.
Your Card will be deactivated to prevent anyone from using it.
Next, a new replacement Card will be ordered.
Your replacement card will be shipped via U.S. mail 7-10 business days after the order is placed.
The replacement card cannot be expedited.

How Do I Use My Card To Get Cash Without Paying A Fee
There are several ways to get cash from your card without paying a fee.
- Use one of the In-Network AllPoint brand ATMs to withdraw cash. Use the ATM locator at EIPCard.com or Money Network® Mobile App to locate one near you. Limits may apply to the amount of cash you are able to withdraw at ATMs.
- Get cash-back at participating merchants, like grocery and convenience stores. If the merchant allows cash-back during a purchase, select Debit on the keypad, enter your 4-digit PIN, select Yes to get cash-back, and then enter the amount of cash you would like. Check the merchants policies on amount limits.
- Request a Money Network Check and cash it at select participating check cashing locations. Go to EIPCard.com to find the nearest participating check cashing locations. To avoid a fee, cash only Money Network Checks and only at participating check cashing locations. Limits may apply.
