Finding The Amounts Of Your First Second And Third Stimulus Checks
To find the amount of stimulus payment youve received, you can:
- Refer to the IRS notices that were mailed to you. IRS Notice 1444shows how much you received from the first stimulus check. IRS Notice 1444-B shows how much you received from the second stimulus check. IRS Notice 1444-C shows how much you received from the third stimulus check.
- Check your bank statements. If you had your payments direct deposited, you can find the amount of your first, second, and third stimulus check using your bank statements. They should be labeled as IRS TREAS 310 and have a code of either TAXEIP1 , TAXEIP2 , or TAXEIP3 .
- Request an account transcript. You can request an account transcript sent electronically or by mail using Get Transcript. You can also call the IRS automated phone transcript service at 800-908-9946 or mail in Form 4506-T to have your transcript be sent by mail.
- Create an account on IRS.gov/account. You can view your stimulus check amounts under the Tax Records tab. If you filed jointly with your spouse, you will only see your half of the stimulus check amounts. Your spouse will need to sign into their own account to see the other half of the stimulus check amounts.

When Will I Get The Third Stimulus Check
You may get a stimulus check starting as early as this weekend. However, stimulus payments will not be distributed all at once. Similar to the first and second stimulus checks, the IRS will send stimulus payments in this order:
- First to individuals with direct deposit who have bank account information on file and
- Second, paper stimulus checks and prepaid debit cards sent via mail.
Latest Irs Payment Status
The IRS have announced that they have sent out over 180 million EIP/Stimulus check payments worth over $420 billion, including the latest batch. Payments are primarily being sent based on 2019 or 2020 tax return data, or information the IRS has sourced for non-filers. The status and method for these payments is available on the GMP tool. Some payments also include tax credits related to the $10,200 unemployment income tax break provided under the ARPA bill. The IRS also said that they are now processing all payments, including for non-filers and for recipients getting paid by paper check or prepaid debit card. Those who are getting their stimulus payment in the mail should start seeing their money now. Pay close attention to their mail delivery so you dont inadvertently throw out the IRS envelope.

The form of payment for the third stimulus may be different than the first or second one. Some people who received a paper check last time might receive a prepaid debit card this time, and some people who received a prepaid debit card last time may receive a paper check. The IRS has emphasized the payments are automatic, and they should not contact their financial institutions or the IRS with payment timing questions, unless after the first round processing is complete.
Also note, third stimulus check payments will not be added to an existing debit card that was mailed for the first or second round of stimulus payments. Under the legislation a new card must be issued.

- The tool asks you to enter your Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, date of birth, street address and ZIP or postal code
- The Get My Payment tool will show you the date your check was mailed on
Despite the agency urging Americans earlier this month to keep a careful eye on their mailboxes for the plain, white envelope holding their COVID-19 relief payment, it appears some people are still mistaking them for junk mail.
Additionally, people who received the first stimulus payment as part of the CARES Act in the form of a check may not get their second payment in the same form, and vice versa, the IRS said.
To speed delivery of the payments to reach as many people as soon as possible the Treasurys Bureau of Fiscal Service is sending payments out by prepaid debit card, according to the IRS.

What If I Changed Bank Accounts
If your bank account information changed since you received the first stimulus payment, the IRS encourages you to file your 2020 tax return as quickly as possible and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit for the amount you are due.
The IRS released this updated statement addressing this topic in depth:
Officials Give Reason To People Asking Wheres My Second California Stimulus Check
Controller Betty Yee has stated that the last year was about helping out the vulnerable residents of California.
The latest batch of payout went to residents living in and around the Sacramento area as the checks go according to by ZIP code. Yee said that the team is working non-stop to process the payment working even on weekends to make sure that they can stay within the deadline.
Around 8.1M California stimulus payments have been issued in the 2nd round. The total value comes to nearly $5.8B, as per data released by the FTB.
The spokesperson for FTB, Andrew LePage has said that with most of the payments already dispatched, there are expected to be close to 8.5M payments under the scheme when the last batch of payments have gone out.
Most of the figures given out are estimates, he said, and have not been passed through fraud and eligibility checks. Some individual TIN filers get until the 15th of next month to finally file their pending returns.
The administration of Governor Newsom has stated that two-thirds of Californians should get their share in the $12B being dispatched under the California stimulus payments.
The program was originally intended for low-earning Californians. But subsequently, the reach and scope of the payments were expanded to bring in people earning $75,000 or less into the net. The sole criteria are that they should have filed returns for 2020.

If you didnt receive a check, the IRS urges you to review the eligibility criteria when you file your 2020 taxes many people, including recent college graduates, may be eligible to claim it. - That your first stimulus payment has been sent. Some people received their first payment in partial payments. If you received partial payments, the application will show only the most recent.
- Your payment type: direct deposit or mail.

You Havent Received Your Second Stimulus Payment Yet
Many people will receive stimulus payments by direct deposit, according to the IRS. If you paid 2019 federal taxes via direct debit or received a tax refund by direct deposit, you will likely receive your second stimulus payment the same way. The majority of these payments have already been issued. If the IRS does not have your correct, up-to-date banking information, youll receive payment by mail or debit card .
Social Security or other beneficiaries who use Direct Express cards and received the first round of stimulus on that card can expect the same this time. Otherwise, payment will come by mail.
Generally, you can expect to receive your payment in the same form you received the first stimulus payment under the CARES Act in early 2020. But thats not the case for everyone. If the IRS is unable to make a direct deposit, your payment may be sent by mail. And if your first stimulus payment arrived via paper check, you could receive a debit card this time, and vice versa.
The best way to track how and when youll receive your stimulus payment is with the IRS Get My Payment tool. This tool can tell you when your payment was sent and whether itll arrive via direct deposit or mail.
And while Jan. 15 is the IRS deadline, you may not actually receive payment by that date. After your payment reports as mailed on the Get My Payment tracker, it may take up to three or four weeks to receive the check or debit card, the agency says.
You May See A Payment Status Not Available Message

Dont be alarmed if the Get My Payment tool gives you a message that says Payment Status Not Available. You may see this message until your payment is processed, according to the IRS. So you may not have to do anything.
But it could also mean youre not eligible for a payment. So you may want to double-check your eligibility and plug your numbers in our stimulus check calculator to see whether youre due money.

The IRS and the Treasury Department began issuing a second round of Economic Impact Payments, often referred to as stimulus payments, last week. Some people received their money before the scheduled payment date of January 4 while others are still refreshing their accounts.

The Irs Has An Online Tool That Lets You Track The Status Of Your Third Stimulus Check
The IRS has already delivered over 100 million third stimulus checks. But if you’re still asking yourself “where’s my stimulus check,” the IRS has an online portal that lets you track your payment. It’s called the “Get My Payment” tool, and it’s an updated version of the popular tool Americans used to track the status of their first- and second-round stimulus checks.
Note that you can’t check the status of your first- or second-round stimulus payments with the updated tool. To find the amounts of these payments, create an online IRS account or refer to IRS Notices 1444 and 1444-B, which the IRS mailed after first- and second-round stimulus checks were issued. If you didn’t get an earlier payment, or your received less than the full amount, you might be able to get what you’re owed by claiming the Recovery Rebate credit on your 2020 tax return. Third-round stimulus payments aren’t used to calculate the 2020 Recovery Rebate credit, but they will be used to figure the credit amount on your 2021 tax return.
The updated “Get My Payment” tool more-or-less works the same way as the portal used for first- and second-round stimulus checks. But here’s a refresher course on what the tool does, what information you need to provide, and what information the tool gives you. Check it out now so you know what to expect before entering the portal on the IRS’s website.

What Will Get My Payment Tell Me
The “Get My Payment” site will inform you about the date of the payment and the method, which the IRS says will either be the mailed payment date or the date of direct deposit to your bank account. Checks sent in the mail will need more processing and mailing time, although the IRS didn’t specify the length of time that will be needed.
The IRS says it is prioritizing direct deposit payments to people with valid routing and account information.
