How Likely Is A Fourth Stimulus Check
Don’t hold your breath, according to Wall Street analysts.
For one, the Biden administration has focused on infrastructure spending to spark economic growth, betting that an investment in roads, trains and other direct investments will help get people back to work and spur the ongoing recovery.
Secondly, economists have pointed fingers at relief efforts such as the three rounds of stimulus checks for contributing to inflation. Because Americans had cash in their pockets, they boosted spending on goods such as furniture, cars and electronics. Combine that with the supply-chain crunch, and the result was sharply higher inflation, according to economists.
Without new stimulus efforts on the horizon, it’s likely that inflation could moderate in 2022, according to Brad McMillan, the chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network. “One cause of inflation has been an explosion of demand driven by federal stimulus,” he noted in a December report. “But that stimulus has now ended.”
He added, “Yes, we will continue to face inflation and supply problems, but they are moderating and will keep doing so.”
My Spouse And I Only Got Half A Stimulus Payment Can We Fix It
The IRS says that some married couples filing jointly may have only received half the amount theyre eligible to receive. The IRS is working on getting the remainder out to eligible couples. Your payments may arrive via different methods, so watch the mail in case you get a check or EIP card for the missing amount.
The IRS recommends that each spouse visit the Get My Payment portal individually to check their payment status.
How Do I Get It
- The stimulus payments will be processed by the IRS.
- If you have already filed a 2019 tax return, you will get the stimulus payment automatically. You will receive it in the same form as your tax refund. If you requested direct deposit, then the stimulus will be direct deposited. If you requested a paper check, then the stimulus will be mailed to the same address on your 2019 tax return.
- If you entered your information into the IRS non-filer portal earlier in 2020, you will get the stimulus payment automatically. You do not have to do anything.
- If you receive one of the following benefits, you will get the stimulus payment automatically. You do not have to do anything.

Checks for millions of Americans, a key part of the $2.2 trillion stimulus bill, have been hitting bank accounts.
People submitting direct deposit information before a Wed., May 13 deadline will help speed up the arrival of their own stimulus checks.
But Wednesday, at noon, is the deadline for Americans to submit their direct deposit information to the Internal Revenue Service, according to the agency. The IRS has already transmitted economic impact payments to nearly 110 million accounts via direct deposit and mailed out nearly 20 million paper checks as of early May.
Without direct-deposit information on file, the IRS said it will continue mailing checks, but those checks mailed out after Wednesdays deadline would arrive by late May at the earliest, it said.
People can submit their information through the IRS tracking tool, Get My Payment. The tool will give people an idea on when they can expect a deposit or a check in the mail, the IRS said. It will also tell users if the IRS needs more information, such as bank account information.
People who have not filed taxes can submit their bank-account information to register for the payments. They can submit their direct deposit information that way too. The link can be found here.
What To Do If You’re Missing Money From The First Two Stimulus Checks

Plus-up payments are going out weekly along with the third round of checks, but they may not be the only money you’re due. For money missing from the first two checks, you need to claim that on your 2020 taxes. We suggest making sure you know how to find out your adjusted gross income. You may be eligible to claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit for claiming missing money from the first two checks.
Also, last week, the IRS launched a new online for familes that don’t file taxes called the “Non-filer Sign-up Tool.” Its purpose is to help eligible families who don’t normally file a tax return enroll in the monthly child tax credit advance payment program, which is slated to begin July 15. However, the tool is also for those who did not file either a 2019 or 2020 tax return and did not use the previous nonfilers tool last year to register for stimulus payments.
In other words, individuals who experience homelessness or make little or no income can use this tool to enter their personal details for the IRS’ records so as to receive the $1,400 stimulus checks or claim the recovery rebate credit for any amount of the first two rounds of payments that might have been missed. Tax nonfilers may need to be proactive about claiming a new dependent, too.

I Filed My Taxes In February But I Wasnt In The First Payment Round Whats Up With That
The way the IRS determines who gets their money when is a mystery to everyone but the IRS. Were not sure why some people got their payments right away, why some people have to wait, and why some people arent getting answers through the Get My Payment tool yet.
If you filed your 2020 taxes, one thing to keep in mind is that the IRS may not have processed your return yet. The IRS is still working through a backlog of 2019 tax returns due to the shutdown during the pandemic last year, along with processing 2020 returns.
What If I Owe Money
The California Franchise Tax Board says the Golden State stimulus payments are not subject to be offset for debts owed to the Franchise Tax Board or other government agencies.
The only exceptions are orders in connection with child support, spousal support, family support, or criminal restitution payable to victims.
If you believe your Golden State Stimulus payment that was deposited to your financial institution has been levied or frozen in error, you need to contact your financial institution.
Keep in mind, the Golden State Stimulus is not the same as the federal IRS stimulus payment.

Could Americans see more stimulus money?
The American Rescue Plan Act was signed into law in March and authorized a third stimulus check. This was a follow-up to two prior direct payments made under the Trump Administration. It was the first stimulus check provided by President Joe Biden, and it was the largest check to date, worth up to $1,400 per adult and dependent.
The IRS was charged with the task of sending out these stimulus payments, and most of them have been distributed already. But the agency is still sending checks well into the summer of 2021. Some Americans, in other words, are still waiting for either their full payment or part of it.
For those who have already received their money, it remains an open question whether another stimulus check will be authorized this year or if they are done receiving stimulus checks in 2021.
Still Waiting On Your Stimulus Check
The rampant spread of COVID-19 in the United States has caused a serious financial impact on the U.S. economy, as the stock market plunged amidst job losses and closed businesses. A glimmer of hope, though, has been the recent passing of legislation to help boost the American economy. The stimulus checks, which are part of a $2 trillion CARES act relief package, are set to help Americans who are unemployed or losing income due to COVID-19. Americans are receiving a $1,200 direct deposit or check from the IRS, assuming you meet the eligibility criteria.
Even though millions of Americans have received their payment, there are still many who have yet to see their stimulus check. If you find yourself in this category, there could be many reasons why you dont have your check. We wanted to point out some common reasons why your check may not have arrived and what you can do to make sure it gets to you safely!

California Stimulus Checks: Payments To Begin Soon Heres When You Could Get Yours
Those who are missing the third economic impact payment or didnt receive the entire amount they were owed may still be able to get the money by claiming the recovery rebate credit on their 2021 taxes, according to the IRS.
California is also sending out its own batch of payments to residents who qualify for the states expanded stimulus program, known as Golden State Stimulus II. Approximately 9 million Californians nearly a quarter of the states population are expected to receive checks of up to $1,100.
The first round of GSS II payments were disbursed in late August, but the Franchise Tax Boards website indicates checks will continue to be mailed out through Jan. 11, 2022.
According to the schedule, the tax board is currently sending paper checks to eligible people who live in ZIP codes with the last three digits between 720-927. The state will start issuing the money to recipients whose ZIP codes contain the last three numbers of 928-999 on Dec. 27.
Once mailed, it can still take up to three weeks for a recipient to get the payment.
Some Californians may get one even after January because they applied for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number by Oct. 15 but didnt get one before the tax deadline.
This group of people will have until Feb. 15, 2022, to file their tax returns and still be considered for a Golden State Stimulus I and/or II payment.

Irs Says It Has Sent More Stimulus Checks

The IRS has said that the third stimulus check has provided greater “direct assistance” than the two prior rounds of payments. More than half of the payouts went to families earning less than $50,000, while roughly one out of every ten stimulus cheques went to Social Security and other government-aid recipients who are not obliged to file a tax return, as well as those who utilized the IRS’s Non-filer service.
According to the IRS, it continues to send out millions of “bonus” payments based on newly submitted tax returns with updated information. In addition, many Americans who never received a Round 3 stimulus check are now getting their payments.
More than 1.1 million of the new stimulus checks were “plus-up” payments, or extra money, from the IRS for individuals who have previously received third-round stimulus checks but not the entire $1,400, according to a published report in BGR.

Is This The Final Stimulus Payment The Latest Batch Are Being Sent Out
The ninth batch of payments is the smallest batch distributed so far in terms of both the number of payments sent out and the total value of those payments
Here’s What You Need to Remember: This focus as part of the ninth batch of stimulus payments on sending payments to those Americans whose payments were dependent on the IRS processing of their 2020 tax returns continues a trend that was on display in the eighth batch of payments, and may indicate that most Americans have now received their payments.
The IRS announced recently that it had begun the processing of the ninth batch of federal stimulus payments worth up to $1,400.
The new batch included over 960,000 payments worth over $1.8 billion dollars, and brings the total number of third-round stimulus payments distributed so far to about 165 million with a total value of roughly $388 billion. 500,000 of these payments totaling $946 million were distributed via direct deposit, with the remainder sent as paper payments.
The ninth batch of payments is the smallest batch distributed so far in terms of both the number of payments sent out and the total value of those payments, with both figures coming in under the previous lows of 1.1 million and $2 billion, respectively, that were set by the eighth batch of payments.
The ninth batch of payments also included 460,000 of what the IRS calls plus-up payments.

Irs Continues Sending Stimulus Checks
In a recently published article in CBS News, the Internal Revenue Service said on Wednesday that it is continuing to deliver federal stimulus funds to eligible Americans, with another 2.2 million checks being sent as early as July 21. Some of these payments contain “plus-up” adjustments for individuals who got less money in previous checks than they were entitled to.
The tax office also said that it would continue to provide weekly stimulus checks. Payments are still being sent to individuals for whom IRS did not have enough information to issue a check before but who subsequently completed a tax return, as well as to people who qualified for “plus-up” payments.
Moreover, 1.3 million cheques were issued to individuals who had just filed a tax return and another 900,000 payments were for plus-up adjustments for individuals who were eligible for larger payouts because their 2020 tax forms have been completed lately, according to Yahoo News.

How Much Money Will I Get
- Adults whose adjusted gross income is less than $75,000/year will get $1,400 for each adult, plus $1,400 for each dependent no matter how old they are. This applies to heads of households who make less than $112,500, as well.
- The IRS will use income information from your 2020 tax return if they received that return before sending your money. Otherwise they will use information from your 2019 tax return.
- If the IRS sends your payment based on a 2019 return and then your 2020 return says you qualify for more , they will send an additional payment to make up for the difference. To get the additional payment, you must file the 2020 tax return by 90 days from the filing deadline or September 1, 2021, whichever is earlier.
